Prof Igor Shvets is Head of the Dept. of Physics at Trinity College Dublin and co-founder of Cellix.
Igor has successfully spun out three export orientated high tech campus companies, Deerac Fluidics (high throughput liquid handling; merged with
and acquired by Beckman Coulter); Cellix and Miravex (3D skin analysis).
Igor has published over 230 peer-reviewed papers and 27 patent families. His research interests include microfluidics, the surface and magnetic properties of oxides, scanning
(both ambient and low temperature), materials for cleaner energy generation, self-assembly of nanostructures and advanced materials for IT and renewable energy purposes, polarons on oxide surfaces, oxide nano-templates.
Igor joined Trinity College Dublin in 1990, first as Lecturer, then as Associate Professor and since 2007 he has been a Professor of Applied Physics. Igor graduated from the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology and obtained his PhD in 1989.
